Why We Use Pre-Orders
Pre-ordering allows us to grow the species that people actually want, rather than producing large quantities of plants that may go unsold.
Local Ecotypes
We prioritize regionally sourced seed and local ecotypes whenever available, and we never sell cultivars. Our goal is to grow plants that are well suited to Western New York's climate, soils, and native ecosystems.

How It Works:
1. Shop!
Browse our list of available species, below, and select the plants you'd like for your garden. Filter by categories such as sun exposure and soil moisture.
Not sure which species will be best for your space? Send us an email and we would be happy to steer you in the right direction.
2. Place Your Pre-Order
Confirm and pay for your plants. This tells us approximately how many of each species to grow for the upcoming season.
3. At Checkout, Choose Local Pickup or Delivery
Free Pickup:

Free local pickup is available at a designated location in the Village of Hamburg, NY. The specific location is provided upon completing your order.

You will be emailed when your order is ready to choose your flexible pickup date and time.
Local Delivery:

Local delivery is available with an added flat fee of $10.00.

4. We Grow Your Plants
We start seeds throughout the winter and early spring, following each species' specific germination requirements. Some seeds need cold stratification before they can germinate, while others are started later in the season. We then care for and grow your plants through spring until they're ready for your garden.
5. Plants Will Be
Ready in May, 2027
All plants will have a strong root system when you receive them and will be ready for planting.
Reminder: You will receive an email when your order is ready and you can choose your flexible pickup time or delivery date.
6. Plant Your Natives!
Once you receive your plants, get them in the ground and water regularly for the first 6 weeks to help them establish strong root systems.
A common saying for native plants is “sleep, creep, then leap,” meaning they spend their first year establishing strong roots, even if you don’t see much growth above ground. In the following years, they grow fuller, spread, and produce more flowers as their root systems develop.

Plant Spacing Tip:
As a general guideline, space native plant plugs 12–18 inches apart. Closer spacing creates a fuller garden more quickly and helps limit weed growth, while wider spacing gives plants more room to grow and can reduce installation costs. Adjust spacing based on each species’ mature size and growth habit.
