Invasive Species Management

Every invasive species project is tailored to the infestation, site conditions, and most effective management approach. We’ll develop a targeted treatment plan and provide guidance for preventing spread and protecting surrounding vegetation.

We always begin with a
free initial consultation...

Every project starts with a free site visit. We’ll assess the invasive species present, their extent and growth patterns, and the surrounding vegetation to determine the most effective management approach for your property.

Invasive Species Plans

Our current focus is lesser celandine and management, but we're happy to discuss other invasive species on a case-by-case basis. If your project falls outside our scope, we can connect you with other local ecologists and small businesses who may be able to help.

Lesser Celandine

(Ficaria verna)

IMPORTANT: LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE DUE TO LESSER CELANDINE’S SHORT TREATMENT WINDOW. TREATMENT MUST BE TIMED TO ITS ACTIVE GROWTH PERIOD BEFORE THE PLANT GOES DORMANT.

  • Small patches: Manual removal when appropriate, with care to remove underground tubers and dispose of properly.

  • Larger patches: Targeted herbicide treatment designed to minimize exposure to surrounding desirable vegetation.

  • Follow-up support: Monitoring guidance, answers to your questions, and recommendations for what to do, and what to avoid, to prevent further spread.

Connecting You

With Local Experts

IMPORTANT: NOT ALL INVASIVE SPECIES ARE WITHIN OUR CURRENT SCOPE.

  • Initial assessment: We’ll discuss the invasive species present in-person, via email, or over the phone, and determine whether the project is a good fit for our services.

  • Local referrals: If the project falls outside of our scope, we’ll help connect you with local professionals who specialize in that species or management approach.

  • Continued guidance: We’re happy to answer questions and help you understand your options for managing invasive species while protecting surrounding vegetation.
